                             Research and Communuications Officer

A Telecommunications Company is seeking to hire a Research and Communications Officer.The Research and Communications Officer will be the voice of the telecommunications industry in Ghana to facilitate decision-making by stakeholders. He/She will ‘listen’ to the industry,develop strategies to ensure that it fulfills the needs of its multiple stakeholders, promote research and support the development of the telecoms sector in Ghana

            Tasks include, but are not limited to :

Research & Communications 

  •  Ensure open communication with the NCA, legislators, general public, etc...
  •  Liaise with telecom operators and promote the industry
  •  Develop and write press releases for publicity
  •  Organize seminars, workshops, etc to discuss matters of common interest to stakeholders
  • Write and edit in-house documents, case studies, speeches, articles, annual reports and produce on-line periodicals/newsletter
  •  Maintain and update information on the organization’s website

 

Policy Research and Analysis

  •  Gather data for policy formulation
  •   Analyze industrial trends and provide relevant information to stakeholders
  •   Research legal/regulatory issues pertaining to the industry and facilitate the identification of contributors, and the writing/dissemination of policy briefs

 

 

 Administrative

  •   Records management and retrieval
  •   Manage and re-route correspondence as needed  
  •  General administrative functions such as managing correspondence, filing, photocopying, etc…

 

  • A proactive and initiative-taking attitude and approach to business
  • Impeccable writing skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to get along well with everyone
  • Ability to work without supervision and play multiple roles

 

Miscellaneous - tasks include, but are not limited to – assisting with marketing strategies, assisting the General Manager to work efficiently and effectively in any of the key areas of operations as identified.

 

Qualifications 

  • Aleast a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. A degree in the area of Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or ICT is preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic office software applications
  • Skills in design and use of publication tools such as Corel Draw are a plus
